History of Alpha phi
In 1872, ten young women met at Syracuse University in New York met to discuss the foundation of a new organization. Faced with the challenge of being denied entry to the fraternities on campus, these women decided to start their own:

Our founders were pioneers for co-education, innovation, women's rights and female empowerment.

OUr CHapter
Almost 150 years later, the vision and legacy of these ten women lives on in the hearts and minds of our sisters.
Founded in 2014, our chapter aims to empower and support women according to four ideals: generosity, sisterhood, character development and innovation.​Ottawa Alpha Phi provides women at uOttawa with a safe space to grow and learn. It's a place to make meaningful friendships that will last a lifetime.
